Holistic approach to alternatives...

Well...... alternatives have emerged because there is an inherent flaw in conventionals which cannot be nullified by whatever optimization techniques we device.. I find an interesting parallel in medicine in comparison with energy sector.. Alternative medical practice of Naturopathy emphasizes on the way we live.. a code of discipline rather. The food we take in, the energy that it gives us ( well i tried to live on fruit juices for 3 days and found my energy levels go down and needed to lie down in the sun for recharge!!!) all needs a different perspective towards holistic vision.

Extending this philosophy further, having intelligent devices( God's perfect instrument - our body - nothing can equal it) is all the more essential in energy cycle in the user's end rather than focussing on electricity generation alone. The shift from tungsten to CFL is one such and hopefully we ll have similar in IC engines(40% efficiency,huh) to ......???? The simple act of afforestation of an acre(or less) of land yields more immediate benefit to humanity rather than installing wind turbines over the oceans is the Organic farmer's perspective to alternative energy Vs an MNC employee working his entire lifetime without any contribution to his mother Nature.

Integrated green buildings( consider WALDEN for green - Thoreau had a benchmark we couldn imagine), conscious effort by everyone to tackle our carbon foot print on personal level (NEEDS SUPPORT GROUPS like "quality circles"), consideraton that we co-exist in this planet along with so many other living forms gives the right vision we need for our future. Whether OPEC supports green cars, whether war is the way to prove right, all assimilates to PEACE and conscious living..

As Naturopathy emphasizes on vegetarian diet which needs a support group the same parallel exists in alternative energy - A NETWORK of like minded individuals for the "SYNERGY" the world needs to get the paradigm shift in perspective.....

Alternatives are surely opt to be practice for life today is very difficult. Opportunity cost is often dealt with everyday. Thus, being optimistic and flexible is certainly the call for survival. When it comes to day-to-day survival, many I presume, needs energy aside from salary as well as alternative financial services as aids in crossing life's hardships. Perhaps, a natural way of converting energy could be a good alternative. In like manner, it should also be at peace with Mother Nature so that green is still preserved.
